Cops interview Atlanta gunman and claim 'no indicators' of hate crime despite Asian murder spree: report
Cherokee County Sheriff

The Cherokee County Sheriff's office in Georgia has said that there is no evidence that a killing spree of Asian people was racially motivated or a hate crime.

The department told WSB that investigators had interviewed 21-year-old Robert Aaron Long and he gave "no indicators" of racial motivations.

"Cherokee Sheriff tells me investigators interviewed suspected gunman who killed 8 people at Asian spas. Right now, Robert Long gave NO indicators these were racially motivated attacks/hate crime. I'm told Long picked locations specifically," WSB's Chris Jose reported in a tweet.

According to the WSB report, investigators are not ruling out the possibility that Long may have targeted people because of their race.

Long is believed to have killed 8 people during Tuesday shootings at two spas. At least six of those people were said to be of Asian descent.
