MAGA megachurch pastor Robert Morris pleaded guilty on Thursday to charges of sexually abusing a 12-year-old female in the 1980s, according to a new report.

NBC News reported that Morris admitted to five counts of lewd or indecent acts with a child. Morris' plea deal allows him to serve six months of a 10-year sentence, according to the report. Morris is also required to register as a sex offender and pay $250,000 in restitution.

Morris is the founder of Gateway Church in Southlake, Texas, in 2000. It is considered to be one of the largest non-denominational megachurches in the country, with a regular attendance of more than 20,000 people, according to reports.

The pastor stepped away from the church in 2024 after Cindy Clemishire came forward with allegations of sexual abuse against him.

He also served as a faith advisor for President Donald Trump during his first administration.

“Today marks a new beginning for me, my family and my friends who have been by my side throughout this horrendous journey,” Clemshire said in court. “Robert, I want you to see me clearly: I am no longer the silenced little girl you abused.”
