Trump quoting Adolf Hitler apparently isn't helping combat the country's immigration issues.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who is challenging the 45th president for the GOP presidential nomination, appeared on Christian Broadcasting Network with David Brody to subtly jab at his former POTUS pal after being prompted to respond to Trump's word choice when criticizing undocumented people "poisoning the blood of our country."

On Saturday, thousands of Trump faithful were in attendance at a rally in Durham, New Hampshire, where Trump read off a teleprompter to paint undocumented migrants as harming the nation.

"They're poisoning the blood of our country," he said. "They're coming into our country from Africa, from Asia, all over the world."

After failing to respond for days, DeSantis disagreed with the diction.

“When you start talking about using those types of terms, I don't think that that helps us move the ball forward," said DeSantis. "I would not put it in those terms.”

Then he took it to President Joe Biden by name, claiming he's mishandled the border and it's been "one of the biggest presidential failures of our lifetime."

DeSantis fears "criminal aliens" and also bad actors are flooding into the U.S. hellbent on doing harm.

"There's a lot of people from other countries who don't mean us well," he said. "That are coming from Iran, from Russia, from China — it's a security threat."

"I think the chance of having a terrorist attack is very very high."

He also is leery of legal immigration.

There's a role for legal immigration, but if you look at what's happened in Europe having massive numbers of people come —
even if it's legal — if they're not assimilating that's been a problem too."

All said, DeSantis believes the ideal immigrant should be legal but also fall in line with America's ideals, adding, "Legal immigration should really be for people who buy into our core values as a country and actually want to assimilate into American society."
