Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) blamed Democrats for "dividing this nation" because they are not endorsing Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.
During an interview on Real America's Voice on Tuesday, Johnson was asked if he agreed with a prediction from Russian President Vladimir Putin's government that there would be an "imminent new civil war" in the United States.
"You know, truthfully, I'm highly concerned about the horribly divided nation we have," Johnson said. "The greatest threat to this nation is that we're a horribly divided nation."
"And it's important to understand it's not conservatives that are dividing this nation. It's the left," he continued.
Johnson said Democrats caused the division with "identity politics, critical race theory, I mean, mutilation of children on the altar [of] transgenderism."

"One of the things I find so hopeful about RFK Jr., Tulsi Gabbard's endorsement of President Trump, that's exactly how you unify and heal this nation," he remarked. "And Trump's willing to put the differences aside and embrace the things that they agree on that bring us together."
"That is how you unify and heal this nation," he added. "So I think those endorsements far beyond making America healthy again can really point the way to how you do in the end unify and heal this nation, because conservatives, we want to do that."
