Newly revealed transcripts of grand jury proceedings in the Georgia criminal election case against President Donald Trump and his allies paint a picture of Rudy Giuliani as confused, rambling and frequently evasive.
In the transcript of Giuliani's interview, which goes on for 127 pages, the former New York City mayor and MAGA ally kicked off by struggling to remember how old he is.
"I'm seventy — 77, I think," said Giuliani. "I get confused sometimes — 77, 78. Let's see. Yeah. Seventy — 77 years old."
In another segment of the interview, Giuliani's reference to the Wollman Rink came out so garbled that the court reporter transcribed it as "the warm and rank," causing momentary confusion in the grand jury room.
Giuliani stuck to his guns, trying to deflect the conversation to his conspiracy theories about Hunter Biden's laptop and personal files, at one point complaining that he offered hard drives from Biden to the FBI agents raiding his office, and they weren't interested.
In Giuliani's recollection, he told the agents, "You want some incriminating evidence, here are Hunter Biden's hard drives. You want the one that's a bridge? Or do you want the one with the child pornography?"
While Hunter Biden was convicted on federal gun and tax charges in 2024, the broader corruption allegations Giuliani describes — including claims of payments to Joe Biden from foreign governments — were never the subject of criminal charges. Hunter Biden was pardoned by his father in December 2024.
Giuliani's claim about child pornography on the hard drive was never substantiated and never resulted in any criminal charges against Hunter Biden.
Throughout the proceedings, Giuliani invoked the Fifth Amendment on nearly every substantive question, including when asked directly who won the 2020 presidential election.
Giuliani was one of many of Trump's allies accused of racketeering in the plot to overturn the 2020 presidential election. The case was largely derailed by a misconduct probe into Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, who was disqualified from prosecuting the charges. The case was also eventually dismissed entirely in November 2025.
