There's something "interesting" about how CNN covered a purported assassination attempt of Donald Trump, a host on the right-wing Newsmax said on Sunday.

Newsmax host Greg Kelly, who referred to the Democratic National Convention as a form of "brainwashing," over the weekend took the time to claim that CNN covered the Trump rally where the President dropped to the ground after loud noises longer than any other campaign event.

Kelly was careful not to exactly endorse the conspiracy theory, yet seemed to imply there is more than meets the eye.

Playing a clip of CNN cutting away soon after the loud shots were heard, Kelly remarks, "Personally, I would have stayed with the scene. You know, you want to find the whole thing. Again, nothing sinister, but just kind of weird, right?"

He then added, "What are the what are the odds? It's a coincidence. Coincidences happen all the time. The first rally they took live from beginning, from the very beginning, to the very end."

CNN submitted the following statement to Raw Story:

"CNN provided live coverage of President Trump’s Butler, PA rally, among many other Trump rallies taken live in 2024, in anticipation of news about his pick for Vice President."

"Any suggestion contrary to that fact is completely false," the media company added.
