MAGA superintendent flees Fox interview as he's grilled on resignation
KOKH/screen grab

Oklahoma Superintendent of Public Instruction Ryan Walters fled Fox studios as a reporter tried to question him about his decision to resign.

Anchor Wendy Suares said KOKH allowed Walters to use its studios to do an interview with Fox News on Thursday. In the interview, the education official announced he was leaving the government to lead a conservative educators group.

"When @OKCFOX agreed to let @RyanWalters_ use our studio for his interview with FOX national, we made clear we were going to talk to him afterward," Suares explained in a post on X following the interview.

Suares shared a video of Walters refusing to answer questions as he quickly exited the studio following his announcement on Fox News.

"So Ryan, you just mentioned online that you're going to work for this non-teachers union," Suares said as she followed Walters through the studio offices. "What do you want to say to Oklahomans who might feel like you're bailing out on them?"

"Can you tell us when you're stepping down and when this job is coming to a close for you?" she asked. "We have to ask when this relationship started because it seems like you've been pushing kind of this job for some time now. Did it interfere with your job for Oklahoma?"

For his part, Walter continued walking and refused to acknowledge the questions. The Oklahoma educator has come under fire for pushing the state to purchase Bibles endorsed by President Donald Trump for public school classrooms. He also pledged to open a Turning Point USA chapter in every public high school following the murder of Charlie Kirk.
