Authorities have identified the 14-year-old gunman who opened fire on a Georgia high school on Wednesday morning, killing four and leaving nine others hospitalized with various injuries.
Colt Gray was identified Wednesday afternoon by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation as the shooter who killed two teachers and two adults at Apalachee High School in Winder. He surrendered to two school resource officers and will faces murder charges in the mass shooting, authorities said at a news conference.
Gunfire erupted around 10:20 a.m. Wednesday at the school, which is about an hour northeast of Atlanta.
Camera footage taken from a news helicopter showed crowds of students being moved to the school's stadium, with multiple ambulances on scene.
Update: Four dead. An additional nine taken to various hospitals with injuries. Suspect in custody and alive. Reports that the suspect has been ‘neutralized’ are inaccurate.
