Reporter Yashar Ali, formerly a Huffington Post contributor, revealed in a Substack post that "The Talk" host Sharon Osbourne has a history of racist commentary, specifically about her former colleague, Julie Chen.
Chen, who is Chinese American, was referred to as "wonton" and "slanty eyes," Ali said, citing multiple sources, including former co-host Leah Remini.
Osbourne also referred to co-host and executive producer Sara Gilbert, who is a lesbian, as "p*ssy licker" and "fish eater," sources also said.
Osbourne has faced criticism for her support of British morning show host Piers Morgan after he attacked Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, who revealed that she suffered from mental health problems before giving birth and after.
"The Talk" went on hiatus after an incident in which Osbourne and co-host Sheryl Underwood had a heated argument over Morgan.
"Though Osbourne has spoken abusively for years with little to no consequence, she's facing significant scrutiny for the first time in her career as a TV personality," Ali wrote.
