Trump's former attorneys, Sidney Powell and Kenneth Chesebro flipping to turn state's evidence provided ripe material for the late-night writer's room.
"Late Night" host Seth Meyers took some light mockery at both esquires' mugshots during his "Closer Look" segment.
But he took particular interest in Powell's Jan. 6 deposition, where she was regarded as a star witness in crafting what some allege was a coup to undermine then-President Elect Joe Biden and secure the 45th president to another term in the Oval Office.
"In the short period of time that you had with the President, did he seem receptive to the presentation that you were making," Powell was asked by the House Select Committee investigating the 2020 election and Jan. 6.
She answered: "He was very interested in hearing particularly about the CISA findings and the terms of 13848 that apparently nobody else had bothered to inform him of."
The attorney can be seen tilting her neck back while lifting a can of Diet Dr. Pepper and swigging it dry.
"God bless the video editor who decided to leave in that long beat of Powell downing her Diet Dr. Pepper," Meyers mused.
Then, in a mocking tone, he said: "Nothing tells you that a person is out of his [censored] mind faster than seeing them chug a Diet Dr. Pepper."
The comedian then admitted he had no clue how to even to find one of these sodas.
"I think you have to buy a soda machine from an antique dealer and pry its back off with a crowbar," he said, grinning.
The host admitted that when he first took a jab at the soda, he hadn't actually tried it.
"You know when that tape first surfaced, we had our fun making fun of Diet Dr. Pepper being a terrible soda," he said. "But I had never tried it."
He's since changed that... and he still thinks it's a tough sip.
"And I want to let everyone know that since then, I've had one. One."
He then returned to the bit by knocking it and Powell again, including his own, somewhat accurate, impression of her.
"No one in their right mind would consider that monstrosity of a soda," he said, while pantomiming a can in his hand and trying his best Sidney Powell soda impression chugging away.
He went on to roll a super-clip of Powell's "crazy sh-t" she was saying at the time of the 2020 election and contrasting that with her guilty plea that unfolded on Thursday.
