Steve Bannon walked free from federal prison early Tuesday morning.
The Trump ally who was considered instrumental to the former president's 2016 election success had spent four months locked up after being found guilty of contempt of court.
“I’m not broken, I’m empowered,” he said after his released at 3.15 a.m., the New York Times reported.
He then made a prediction about next week’s election, saying a bitter legal fight was coming that could last for months.
“If people think American politics has been divisive before, you haven’t seen anything,” the Times reported him saying.
Bannon was imprisoned after he refused to comply with a subpoena to appear before Congress to be grilled about the Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol in 2021.

He told the Times it had been “1,000 percent” worth it to go to prison rather than testify.
“If you’re not prepared to go to prison to fight for your country, you’re not prepared to fight for your country,” he said.
