One of Donald Trump's staunchest conservative opponents said Saturday he's had a change of heart.
Bill Mitchell, an influencer with a large social media following, previously endorsed Ron DeSantis for the nomination. In fact, Mitchell went a step further, suggesting he would delete his account if Trump ends up being the nominee for the GOP.
"Unless DeSantis wins the GOP nomination, I will quit social media and politics forever," Mitchell posted in June. "I can no longer work in a world where a narcissistic, lying, criminal like Trump is my party's nominee."
On Saturday, however, Mitchell had a different perspective.

"LET'S MAKE THIS OFFICIAL: I'm endorsing Trump for president," he posted on X. "If Trump gets removed from the race due to his legal issues, I'm endorsing DeSantis as his replacement. We MUST defeat Biden."
The comments were not gracious.
"I guess Bill Mitchell isn’t deleting his account after Trump beat desantis," one Trump supporter wrote Saturday.
Another commenter, a self-described political independent, said, "This is what it looks like to be beat into submission on Twitter. Couldn't be me."
Author Jeff Hard added, "No. Trump needs to go. And either the Rs do it now in the primary or the Ds will do it in the general. Without a doubt."
"You should not have endorsed Trump. You should have endorsed a Republican Congress and stay out of the presidential race. Trump is a sinking ship," another user added.
Another comment on X read, "Bill is such a fraud. Just a week ago he was saying he’d vote for [Robert Kennedy Jr.] and work on the Senate and House races. Folks do yourself a favor and hit the Unfollow button on this."
Former federal and state prosecutor Ron Filipkowski also joined in, contrasting Mitchell's Saturday statement with one from five months ago.
"Right now, Donald Trump is the single greatest threat to our Constitution and Republic," Mitchell said at the time. "If he is our nominee, America is finished."
