Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) on Thursday made a flagrantly false claim about President Joe Biden dragging his feet when it came to showing solidarity with Israel in the wake of last weekend's terrorist attacks by Hamas that resulted in more than 1,000 Israelis being killed.
Writing on Twitter, Cruz falsely claimed that it took Biden several days to state that the United States government was standing shoulder-to-shoulder with one of its top allies in a time of need.
"It took days for Joe Biden to say the U.S. stands with Israel," Cruz claimed. "I am glad that he finally said it, but it's important for Americans to understand why it took him that long."

However, one of Cruz's Twitter followers pointed him to remarks made by Biden on October 7th, the same day that the attack on Israel occurred, stating, "Let there be no mistake: The U.S. stands with the state of Israel."
Biden and his administration have been consistent in stating their complete support for Israel in the wake of this weekend's attack and Biden has even refrained from calling on Israel to show restraint as it launches its counterattack against Hamas.
