Fox News host John Roberts on Wednesday fact-checked Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) after he falsely claimed that Attorney General Merrick Garland called parents "domestic terrorists."

Cruz made the comments while reflecting on Glenn Youngkin's victory in the Virginia governor's race.

"Even worse, the attorney general -- Joe Biden's attorney general -- calling those parents domestic terrorists," Cruz said of parents who speak out at school board meetings. "I think that directly led to the result last night."

"In fairness," Roberts pushed back, "he said that they weren't domestic terrorists. It was the National School Board Association."

"But -- it's true," Cruz relented before changing the subject to attack Democrats.
