Congressman Blake Moore (R-UT) was caught out cold– asleep during the House Ways and Means Committee meeting.

The incident was highlighted on MSNBC's Morning Joe as they were headed to break.

“As we've been discussing, House lawmakers have been holding a marathon hearing on Capitol Hill to debate the GOP's domestic policy bill,” anchor Mika Brzezinski said before tossing to video. “Clearly, the all-nighter is taking its toll.”

The video was cut with The Kinks’ song “Tired of Waiting for You” playing in the background.

“Mrs. Fischbach?” a voice called from the video.

“No” was the reply.

The camera panned over to Congressman Moore, slumped over in his chair.

“Mr. Moore?” the voice asked.

There was no response from Congressman Moore.

“Mr. Moore?” the voice asked again.

Multiple congresspersons behind Moore could be seen looking for Moore before Congresswoman Michelle Fischbach (R-MN) was seen shaking Moore.

The room laughed as Fischbach whispered a question to her fellow congressman.

“No,” Moore uttered as he tried to control his own laughter.

“Mr. Moore, no,” the narrating voice said.

Morning Joe then cut to Brzezinski, Host Joe Scarborough, and Rev. Al Sharpton watching and giggling along with the incident.

The sleepy situation draws comparisons to the 1986 film “Ferris Bueller's Day Off” scene where his teacher is taking attendance, yet Bueller was not there.

In this case, Moore was in attendance, just not consciously.

The committee was in session, marking up President Donald Trump’s “big, beautiful bill.”

The session was nearly 18 hours long and had many onlookers saying it “was a gift to the wealthy.”
