'Is this a joke?' GOP's Tom Cotton slammed for saying Biden must support Ukraine

Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) was mocked on Saturday by a Democratic lawmaker who said Cotton should "read the room" before declaring that President Joe Biden should provide Ukraine with the weapons needed to beat Russia's advances.

Cotton, who was previously mocked over questions about domestic terrorism in what was called a "self-own," made his comments on Friday as Biden was dealing with criticism for sending cluster munitions to Ukraine. Biden said it was a difficult decision, but that, "they needed them."

"If Russia laid down its arms, there would be peace. If Ukraine laid down its arms, there would be no Ukraine," Cotton wrote. "The fastest way to achieve peace is for Biden to stop pussyfooting around and give Ukraine the weapons it needs to take back its territory. Then Putin will negotiate."

That didn't sit well with Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA).

"Read the room. About 100 of your MAGA colleagues voted this week to defund Ukraine/help Putin," Swalwell wrote on Saturday. "Is this a joke?
