Vivek Ramaswamy has tried to garner support from conspiracy theorists in recent weeks — but he's had little to show for it, as his polling numbers have remained stagnant.

In fact, The Dispatch reports that Ramaswamy's efforts to court one conspiracy-minded Iowa voter backfired massively after the voter confronted him for making illogical claims in his campaign pitch.

The voter in question, a man named Nathen Trausch, questioned Ramaswamy's claims that he was the only candidate who would be able to "save" Trump from prosecution if elected, on the grounds that sinister, unnamed powers would block Trump from winning the presidency again, even going so far as to say Trump could be killed.

Were that truly the case, asked Trausch, why wasn't Ramaswamy similarly worried for his own life given his pledge to rescue Trump from the clutches of the "Deep State?"

“So the government might kill Trump, but they won’t kill you?” Trausch asked. “Because you’re the most anti-establishment guy."

At this point, Ramaswamy accused Trausch of being a paid plant for a rival campaign, which the Dispatch reports caused the Iowa man great offense.

"He got frustrated with me, called me a paid actor, so that’s why my vote’s probably going to Trump," Trausch confided to The Dispatch.
