It seems like President Donald Trump won't be able to outrun the Jeffrey Epstein story after all.
The Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday that Trump sent Epstein a 'bawdy' letter for Epstein's 50th birthday. It contains several lines of typewritten text and an outline of a naked woman, as well as an imaginary conversation between the two men written in the third person. Trump allegedly signed his name to the letter in a style "mimicking pubic hair," according to WSJ.
Trump's imaginary conversation opens with the line, "There must be more to life than having everything."
"Donald: Yes, there is, but I won’t tell you what it is."
"Jeffrey: Nor will I, since I also know what it is."
"Donald: We have certain things in common, Jeffrey."
"Jeffrey: Yes, we do, come to think of it."
Trump has consistently denied being associated with Epstein since he became president, despite overwhelming evidence that the two men had a personal relationship.
For instance, Trump told New York Magazine in 2002 that he had known Epstein for "15 years."
"He’s a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side," Trump told the outlet at the time. "No doubt about it—Jeffrey enjoys his social life.”
Trump has also sought to prevent the release of materials contained in the Epstein files for the last week. He's claimed the files were created by Democrats like Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, and also told his base to stop talking about the story.
