President Donald Trump on Wednesday posted an ominous threat directed at higher education institutions on Truth Social.

In the post, Trump announced that Columbia University agreed to settle a federal lawsuit with his administration for $200 million. That payment includes $20 million earmarked for Jewish employees "who were unlawfully targeted and harassed," the post reads in part.

Trump also threatened other colleges and universities in the same post.

"Numerous other Higher Education Institutions that have hurt so many, and been so unfair and unjust, and have wrongly spent federal money, much of it from our government, are upcoming," the post continues.

Trump sued Columbia several months ago, seeking to change the school's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion programs as well as its campus protest policies resulting from the October 7 attacks in Israel. He also paused more than $400 million in Congressionally-approved grant funding for the university.

Legal experts roundly rejected Trump's lawsuit as frivolous.

" It’s a great honor to have been involved, and I want to thank and congratulate Secretary Linda McMahon, and all those who worked with us on this important deal," Trump wrote.

"I also want to thank and commend Columbia University for agreeing to do what is right," he added.
