Sen. Adam Schiff blasted Donald Trump in a fiery message to supporters, calling the ex-president’s frequent attacks a “badge of honor” and warning that Trump’s latest moves amount to a direct assault on democracy. Schiff said Trump is “terrified” of losing power in the midterms and is leaning on Texas Republicans to rig congressional maps rather than face the consequences of his failed policies. Standing with Gov. Gavin Newsom to back California’s “Election Rigging Response Act,” Schiff declared that Trump has “poked the bear” — and vowed it’s time to fight back.
