President Donald Trump said on Sunday that the Federal Communications Commission should look into ABC and NBC's broadcast licenses, citing the coverage he gets on Al Sharpton's show, "PoliticsNation."

"This is just one of the many reasons that the Federal Communications Commission should look into the license of NBC, which shows almost exclusively positive Democrat content," Trump wrote on Truth Social. "Likewise, ABC Fake News — About the same thing, 97% negative to Republicans!"

Trump also claimed that he played a role in building Sharpton's career. Trump claimed Sharpton would ask him to go to his rallies because Sharpton "couldn't get anyone to come."

"Then he did the Tawana Brawley Hoax, one of the worst Low Level Scams in History, and that set him back, BIG TIME!" Trump wrote. "Then he got to know Brian Roberts, Chairman of Fake News NBC, who gave him what would become one of the Lowest Rated Shows in Television History. Roberts is afraid to take him off because it wouldn’t be 'Politically Correct.'"

Trump's threat comes amid the president's ongoing attacks on late-night television shows like "The Stephen Colbert Show" and "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" over how they portray him.
