'What an absolute joke!' MAGA melts down after Nobel Peace Prize Trump snub

The Norwegian Nobel Committee awarded its annual Nobel Peace Prize Friday to one Maria Corina Machado, a Venezuelan politician and leader of a resistance movement against President Nicolas Maduro, sparking absolute fury from supporters of President Donald Trump who argue he was more deserving of the award.

“Imagine thinking a woman who cries nonstop about Nicolas Maduro has done more for the world than President Trump,” wrote right-wing influencer Laura Loomer, a powerful Trump ally that wields “breathtaking influence” in the White House, in a social media post Friday on X.

“What an absolute joke. Everyone knows President Trump deserves the Nobel Peace Prize. More affirmative action nonsense.”

Trump supporters have argued that the president was deserving of the prize given the Gaza peace plan he helped broker this week, despite Israel having already violated Trump’s demand for the nation to pause its military siege, as well as Israeli leadership’s outright objections to key provisions in the plan.

“You are an utter joke!” wrote X user “Yair Einhorn,” who’s made no less than eight posts decrying Machado receiving the Nobel Peace Prize over Trump and has amassed more than 16,600 followers.

“You gave this prize to someone that nobody’s ever heard about! The only person that was worthy to receive this prize is the president of the United States – Donald J. Trump!! Your committee is a joke!”

Supporters of Trump’s also cite the president’s claim that he had ended “eight wars,” though critics note the claim is wholly inaccurate, with Trump citing several instances that involved no actual wars or threats of war.

“Donald Trump ended 8 wars in 10 months including the highly contentious Gaza [war],” wrote X user “Ryan Dally,” who describes themself as a “political correspondent” and has amassed nearly 8,000 followers.

“Yet somebody absolutely no one has heard of, wins the ‘Nobel Peace Prize’ The whole thing is a sham and nothing more than a popularity contest. Has lost all credibility now.”

Trump has long sought the Nobel Peace Prize, and has complained on several occasions about not being nominated for the prestigious award, and has frequently complained about former President Barack Obama receiving the award in 2009.

“Dear Snobs, Accredited Clowns and [Trump derangement syndrome]-driven socialists of the European elite… you have yet again managed to turn the Nobel Peace Price into a worthless trinket,” wrote X user “Sebastian Adlercreutz," who frequently posts MAGA and Islamophobic content, and has amassed more than 1,000 followers.
