'Seething' Trump just made an 'ironic' admission to his Cabinet: analyst

A progressive political analyst flagged a staggeringly "ironic" admission that President Donald Trump made during the cabinet meeting on Tuesday.

Brian Tyler Cohen, a progressive YouTuber, discussed the Cabinet meeting in a new reaction video posted on his YouTube channel. In it, he highlighted a claim Trump made during the meeting, in which he called the word affordability a "Democrat scam."

"The word affordability is a Democrat scam," Trump said. "They say it, and then they go on to the next subject, and everyone thinks, 'Oh, they had lower prices.' No. They had the worst inflation in the history of our country."

Cohen claimed Trump's comments were "a tad bit ironic" considering he has branded himself as the "affordability president."

"This is Trump seething over the fact that Americans are recognizing the con that they have been sold after Trump peddled the idea of affordability on the campaign trail, only to send costs soaring once he took power," Cohen said. "And so now Democrats have been running on fixing the problems that were created by Trump during Trump's administration. And his response is to claim that the very word affordability is a Democrat scam, which is a tad bit ironic..."

Trump's statement comes at a time when Democrats across the country are winning elections with a message focused on affordability. It was the key theme in New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani's campaign, as it was for Virginia Governor-elect Abigail Spangenberger's election.

"So, which is it? Is affordability a Democrat hoax, or is affordability literally your entire [modus operandi] because whichever it is, Donald Trump should probably tell that to Donald Trump," Cohen added.
