President Donald Trump announced through his Truth Social platform on Friday that he is revoking the security clearance for former President Joe Biden.
"There is no need for Joe Biden to continue receiving access to classified information. Therefore, we are immediately revoking Joe Biden’s Security Clearances, and stopping his daily Intelligence Briefings," said Trump. "He set this precedent in 2021, when he instructed the Intelligence Community (IC) to stop the 45th President of the United States (ME!) from accessing details on National Security, a courtesy provided to former Presidents."
"The Hur Report revealed that Biden suffers from 'poor memory' and, even in his 'prime,' could not be trusted with sensitive information," Trump continued. "I will always protect our National Security — JOE, YOU’RE FIRED. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"

Biden had said Trump should be excluded from classified national security hearings, a courtesy typically given to former presidents, shortly after the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol that was incited in part by Trump's ongoing promulgation of conspiracy theories that the presidential election had been stolen from him.
“I just think that there is no need for him to have the intelligence briefings,” said Biden at the time. “What value is giving him an intelligence briefing? What impact does he have at all, other than the fact he might slip and say something?”
This follows Trump's move last month to revoke security clearances from a number of intelligence officials who had questioned the authenticity of Hunter Biden's laptop during the 2020 election. He also ended security detail for a number of public figures who had criticized him after leaving his prior administration, including former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and former National Security Adviser John Bolton, the latter of whom has warned it puts a target on their backs.
