'Going to cause friction': NYT reporter says Trump will rage if Pence allies talk with Capitol riot committee

On CNN Wednesday, New York Times reported Maggie Haberman suggested that if staffers for former Vice President Mike Pence cooperate with the House committee investigating the January 6 Capitol attack, it could further inflame the rift between Pence's camp and former President Donald Trump.

"There's been serious tension, as we know, between former President Trump and former Vice President Pence since the attack that day," said anchor Wolf Blitzer. "Will the level of cooperation from Pence aides reflect that?"

"There's less tension between Pence and Trump directly, despite everything that happened, than there is between the two camps," said Haberman. "I do think this is going to cause more friction. I think that Trump in particular does not want to see Pence's folks go talk to the committee."

"These are not all identical advisers," continued Haberman. "Keith Kellogg, yes, he was in the Oval Office. Keith Kellogg is widely seen among Pence's aides as candidly more loyal to Trump than Pence... the fact that Kellogg was there at the tent and the rally and not focused on Pence raised a lot of questions for Pence's folks. You'll see a schism within the aides, and I don't quite know what that looks like."
