Donald Trump on Saturday blamed a former ally for recommending someone who he would then nominate for a key role.
Trump earlier on Saturday pledged to target his own former FBI director, Christopher Wray, in a fiery social media post regarding what he dubbed the “January 6th hoax.”
“It was just revealed that the FBI had secretly placed, against all Rules, Regulations, Protocols, and Standards, 274 FBI Agents into the Crowd just prior to, and during, the January 6th Hoax,” Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social.
Trump then created a separate post later on, mentioning Wray and another Republican who used to be the president's key ally.
"For those who are interested, and there aren’t many of you, Christopher Wray was recommended to me by Sloppy Chris Christie when Chris was in my 'good graces' — which was a very long time ago!" Trump wrote.
