A new report from The Guardian's Hugo Lowell claims that prosecutors had to scramble to find if former President Donald Trump was keeping stashes of top-secret government documents at any of his plethora of personal properties.
According to Lowell, prosecutors realized that Trump may have kept vital national security secrets at his Bedminster resort within weeks of the FBI's search at his Mar-a-Lago resort.
"The indications of classified documents at Bedminster so alarmed prosecutors that they focused part of the investigation on whether Trump might have transported the materials or disclosed their contents there in addition to refusing to return them to the government," writes Lowell.
Strangely, prosecutors never tracked down the paper that Trump waved around to a guest at his Bedminster resort that purportedly showed American war plans with Iran.

In fact, searches of Bedminster produced no classified documents whatsoever.
According to Lowell, "the absence of classified documents at Bedminster led prosecutors to suspect that Trump treated it like a vacation home, where he took boxes of things away from Mar-a-Lago at the start of the summer, and then returned with all of his things to Mar-a-Lago at the end of the season."
That said, prosecutors strongly believe that Trump took some documents with him to Bedminster at some point after they subpoenaed Trump aide Margo Martin to confirm the authenticity of a recording they obtained of Trump showing off war plans at the New Jersey property.
