'His brain is rice pudding': Trump skewered for demanding AOC take dementia test like him

President Donald Trump demanded on Monday that Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) prove her intelligence by taking the "IQ test" he recently passed, seemingly unaware that he was actually describing a cognitive test for dementia.

"AOC is low IQ," Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One. "If you give her an IQ test, have her pass like the exams that I decided to take when I was at Walter Reed. Those are very hard ... They're really aptitude tests, in a certain way, but they're cognitive tests. Let AOC go against Trump. The first couple of questions are easy. A tiger, an elephant, a giraffe..."

Trump appears to be describing the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA), a screening test used on the elderly and stroke patients to check for signs of cognitive decline. He has repeatedly bragged in the past about "acing" this test, even though it's not a sign of high intelligence and simply a screen for abnormal behavior.

Commenters on social media had a field day with his demands that a 36-year-old congresswoman be screened for dementia like him.

"A dementia screening test. He's describing a dementia screening test," wrote the account for the Lincoln Project.

"Grandpa is confusing an IQ test with a dementia test," wrote criminal justice reporter Radley Balko. "And he thinks a 36-year-old would have problems passing the latter. Which is definitely not a sign of cognitive decline."

"Don’t think those were IQ tests, grandpa," wrote former White House staffer Jeremy Edwards.

"So at his 2nd 'annual physical' of the year, Trump's doctors gave him a dementia screening test, again, then ordered an MRI," wrote novelist Patrick S. Tomlinson. "His brain is rice pudding."

"Here’s an idea: AOC and Trump take an IQ test on live TV. The loser agrees to resign their office," said novelist Greg Cantwell. "Who isn’t watching?"
