About 45 minutes into his speech at a rally in Hialeah, Florida, about 12 miles away from Miami's GOP presidential debate that he intentionally skipped, former President Donald Trump threw some shade.
"I think they're at a debate tonight," describing the five other candidates who are vying to earn the Republican nomination to become the 47th president.
Trump then claimed: "Nobody's talking about it."
He then took umbrage against one of the other GOP competitors, without name him or her, running against him for questioning his courage by failing to face-off against them on national television.
"Somebody said, one of the dumber ones, 'He doesn't have the courage to stand up.'"
The crowd booed in the windup.
"Well listen, I'm standing in front of tens of thousands of people right now and it's on television," he thundered. "That's a helluva lot harder to do than a debate."
While it's not confirmed he likely is hitting back at former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who over the summer prior to competing in the first GOP debate that set in Milwaukee, chided Trump.
"He’s a coward," Christie told reporters. "There’s no other conclusion to come to that he’s both afraid of me and he’s afraid of defending his record. And if I had his record, I’d be nervous about showing up, too."
Upon hearing the tough talk from the former leader of the free world, the crowd packing into the Ted Hendricks Stadium inside Henry Milander Park erupted in cheers of adulation.
