Former President Donald Trump has a new fundraising ploy — and that is to make his supporters into doormats.
A new WinRed page posted for the Trump campaign offers supporters of the former president a personalized doormat with their name on it if they contribute $100 to his re-election — although alternative amounts suggested are $150, $200, $300, $500, $1,000, or the maximum allowed federal campaign contribution limit of $3,300.
The doormats feature a Trump 2024 logo and say, "The [X] FAMILY WILL MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"

"When I’m not in court for my SHAM BIDEN TRIALS, I’m campaigning across the country for our America First agenda," said the solicitation. "And nothing warms my heart like seeing true MAGA Patriots display their 100% AMERICAN MADE 2024 TRUMP DOORMATS; Let EVERYONE KNOW that your family is part of our unstoppable movement to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"
The Trump doormat sale is the latest in a series of increasingly wild campaign promotions and Trump-branded merchandise being sold as the former president tries to alleviate his mounting financial struggles.
Earlier this year, Trump unveiled a line of gold branded high top sneakers — reportedly over the objections of a strategist who warned the former president this would not go over well. This prompted some right-wing pundits to suggest Trump would improve his margins with Black voters in 2024, purportedly because of how much Black people like sneakers.
And more recently, Trump endorsed a special edition of $60 large-print "God Bless the USA" Bibles which also included America's founding documents and Lee Greenwood lyrics, prompting backlash from some who found the concept sacrilegious. It's unclear exactly how this money goes to benefit Trump; the website disclaims none of the proceeds go to the Trump campaign, but doesn't directly answer whether it can't be spent on his legal expenses.
