Former President Donald Trump has continued to rage against writer E. Jean Carroll, the woman who successfully sued him for defaming and sexually abusing her.

In fact, Trump even went so far as to post a whopping 37 attacks on Carroll on his Truth Social account over the span of just two hours.

Reacting to this, CNN legal analyst Elie Honig say Trump had nothing to gain from a legal perspective in continuing to smear Carroll, and much to lose.

"Anything Donald Trump says is fair game," said Honig. "It can be used by the jury and the judge. Look, he's going down this path of almost self-destruction when it comes to the statements about E. Jean Carroll."

Honig went on to speculate that Trump was doing this for political reasons to make his base of voters further rally around him.

However, he also warned that Judge Lewis Kaplan would not put up with any political theatrics in his court.

"If Donald Trump takes the stand today, do not expect it to last long because he's going to veer outside those line real quick and this judge is going to shut it down real quick," he said. "Judge Kaplan will not allow Donald Trump to do what he did in the New York civil fraud trial and this could be over very quick."
