Former President Donald Trump has come up with enough money to appeal his defamation verdict against journalist E. Jean Carroll.
CNN reports that Trump on Friday posted the $92 million bond needed to appeal the civil lawsuit in which juries awarded Carroll tens of millions of dollars after Trump was found liable for defaming and sexually abusing her.
Carroll accused Trump of raping her in a department store in the 1990s, and Trump responded by accusing her of lying to promote a "crummy book" that she was saying.
Carroll then sued Trump and a jury subsequently found him liable for both defaming Carroll and sexually abusing her.
The former president, however, was undeterred by this and continued to insist that Carroll had lied about him, which led her to file yet another lawsuit that resulted in a jury slapping Trump with an $83.3 million verdict.
Trump has continued to deny any wrongdoing and is now appealing the judgement.
