Former President Donald Trump took to his Truth Social platform yet again on Thursday to rant against the civil fraud trial in New York, accusing the state of contradicting its own case — and repeating direct attacks at Judge Arthur Engoron.
"Why doesn’t the implosion of the A.G. of New York State’s Star Witness end this Witch Hunt," wrote Trump. "He admitted on the stand that he lied, and that I NEVER TOLD HIM, OR ANYONE ELSE, TO INFLATE THE NUMBERS. In fact, the numbers are low, or very conservative, the exact opposite of what this ridiculous RIGGED case is all about."
"THE FRAUD IS BY THE JUDGE & A.G. (Mar-a-Lago & more!), NOT BY ME!!!" Trump continued.
In fact, during the trial on Wednesday, the former president's own witness admitted there were "glaring" inconsistencies in the Trump Organization's financial statements — but argued those were the responsibility of Trump's accountants, not Trump himself.

New York Attorney General Letitia James is alleging that the former president and his two adult sons systematically misstated the value of their assets to get better loan and tax arrangements, sometimes even inflating the square footage of their properties. She is seeking hundreds of millions in fines and the dissolution of the Trump Organization.
Engoron has already ruled in favor of James on the merits in summary judgment, leaving the current trial primarily about assessing damages.
