Jaws dropped at new allegations against President Donald Trump and Attorney General Todd Blanche released by House Judiciary Committee Democrats in a new report on the Jeffrey Epstein scandal.
The committee’s Democrats issued a 52-page report Monday laying out what they call “the case against Donald Trump emerging in the Epstein Files and DOJ’s desperate efforts to cover it up,” and they are now calling for an independent special counsel to investigate both the president and his attorney general, whom they accused of possibly committing “criminal obstruction of justice.”
Blanche has denied the DOJ is hiding anything, saying the department “undertook a Herculean task to review millions and millions of potentially responsive files.” A DOJ spokesperson did not immediately respond to MS NOW’s request for comment on the report.
Committee Democrats accused the president of being “an active participant” in Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse of young women in the 1990s and accused DOJ of covering it up. The report details new claims from Swiss former pageant contestant Beatrice Keul, who told committee staff that Trump raped her at New York’s Plaza Hotel in 1993, an assault she described as “brutal.” The White House has previously called Keul’s allegations “fake,” and Trump denies them.
The report also cites an FBI search that tied Trump and Epstein to a 2007 “exploitation of minors” case number, and a whistleblower who says documents linked to that case are being withheld. It also highlights a redacted 2009 document in which Trump reportedly said Epstein was “never asked to leave” Mar-a-Lago, contradicting his long-standing claim that he kicked Epstein out. According to an email from Epstein’s lawyer, Trump specifically asked that his account be passed along to Epstein’s team.
Blanche is accused of repeatedly steering Ghislaine Maxwell away from discussing a survivor whose account implicated Trump, which Democrats say may amount to witness tampering.
The White House says none of the allegations are true, saying in a statement that Trump “has been fully exonerated of anything related to Epstein.” Trump has long denied any sexual misconduct involving women connected to Epstein and has said he knew nothing about Epstein’s crimes.
The new claims stunned many critics.
“Breaking: Donald Trump was ‘an active participant in Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse of young women in the mid-to-late 1990s,’ according to a report issued today by Dems on the House Judiciary Committee,” announced journalist Julie K. Brown, who has reported extensively on Epstein. “The report includes one new rape allegation against Trump, and calls for a special investigation of the Trump administration’s cover-up of Epstein’s crimes.”
“It’s well-documented that the president maintained a years-long friendship with the world’s most notorious child sex trafficker,” observed activist Will Stancil. “It might strike you as odd there aren’t direct allegations of Trump engaging in child sex trafficking.. except there are. There are SO MANY. They just never get reported!”
“The new @HouseJudiciary report on @AGToddBlanche’s Epstein cover-up describes witness testimony saying that Epstein, not Paolo Zampolli, introduced Melania to Trump,” pointed out legal analyst Marcy Wheeler. “Melania has threatened to sue multiple people to suppress this.”
Melania Trump has denied that Epstein introduced her to her husband.
“Guys, Paolo may have been lying. Huh,” added writer Greg Olear, referring to Zampolli’s longtime claim that he introduced the couple. Zampolli has long maintained that he did.
“Is Trump a serial sexual predator and pedophile?” asked Harper’s Magazine contributor and lawyer Scott Horton. “The House Judiciary Committee Dems issue a 50-page report looking at that question and consolidating the evidence. It’s a formidable document. And we still hear apologists on air denying the existence of such evidence. Shameful.”
“Here’s the new House Dem Judiciary report on Trump and Epstein. It’s probably why he brought up Epstein when he went to vote this weekend,” suggested actor and comedian Hal Sparks. “As bad as what we know about him and Epstein is, the stuff He and Blanche are hiding is worse.”
