Tireless CNN fact checker Daniel Dale on Friday published an analysis of what he described as former President Donald Trump's "lying spree" about immigration in the closing weeks of the 2024 presidential campaign.

In promoting the piece on his X account, Dale commented that "Trump is lying about immigration with staggering frequency and variety" and he has tabulated at least 28 false claims about immigration in just the last two weeks alone.

As for the analysis itself, Dale walks through a dizzying level of false claims Trump has made, ranging from a claim that Vice President Kamala Harris has never visited the United States-Mexico border, a false claim about the Biden administration allowing 13,000 known murderers to roam free in American cities, a false claim that the Federal Emergency Management Agency has run out of money because it's given it all away to immigrants, and even a false claim that Mexico paid for the portions of the border wall he constructed during his first term in office.

Trump has also repeated false claims about Haitian immigrants in Springfield, Ohio, being in the country illegally, while also doubling down on documented lies about the immigrants eating local residents' pets.

Trump has also continued to insist that major parts of Aurora, Colorado, despite denials from the city's Republican mayor, have been completely taken over by Venezuelan gangs.
