In conversation with right-wing talk radio host John Fredricks on Wednesday, former President Donald Trump went off on Fox News, complaining that they run too many negative ads about him.
"So, if the Republicans in the midterms — if they take back control of the Senate, do you have any sense that there might be, potentially, with your help, a new majority leader?" asked Fredricks.
"Oh, I think you'll have a new majority leader," said Trump. "You know, I've always said [Mitch McConnell is] the most overrated man in politics. I know him well, I worked with him. It took him forever to get me the wall. And in the end he couldn't get it, so I got it. I took it through the military. And I got the wall. It took me a long time, because him and Paul Ryan ganged up, and that was a group. How would you like to have to work with those two? The problem is Paul Ryan is basically running Fox now. That's why Fox is no longer a prime, a primer for us. Not great, not great."
"You know, it took Fox 30 to call Virginia for Youngkin, 30 minutes after both MSNBC and NBC," said Fredricks. "What does that say?"
"Yeah, that's probably because maybe they wanted the Democrat to win, who knows," said Trump. "You don't know. But it's a much different place than it was a few years ago. When I ran in '16 — I actually did much better in '20 than I did in '16, you know I got 12 million more votes — but when I ran in '16, Fox was great. And now, all they do is put on commercials from the Lincoln Project, you know, and others. You know, the perverts at the Lincoln Project. Commercials from the Lincoln Project. So they do a good piece on Trump, and then they have five minutes of commercials. It's called, like, you're a net loss. It's terrible. Roger Ailes would never air a bad commercial. If he was with somebody, he would never allow the RINOS or the Never Trumpers or whoever it may be to put on a commercial."
