The Trump White House dragged Taylor Swift’s husband into its latest pitch to fight fraud on Thursday after Travis Kelce was identified as the victim of a multimillion-dollar Ponzi scheme.
“This is why we do what we do,” the White House wrote in response to a Fox News report about the Kansas City Chiefs star.
“Seems like a good time to re-up the work of the White House Task Force to Eliminate Fraud: identifying fraud & protecting Americans,” the post continued.
The White House then turned to a football-themed punchline.
“Oh and it looks like the next draft pick to join the Task Force is @tkelce!”
Kelce reportedly invested in a fund co-founded by investment manager Siddharth Jawahar, who pleaded guilty to three counts of wire fraud and was sentenced to 11 years in federal prison.
It remains unclear how much Kelce invested or lost. He has not been accused of any wrongdoing.
