The U.S. Supreme Court again denied a request to lift a gag order placed on President-elect Donald Trump after he was convicted of 34 felony counts of falsifying business records in New York.
Justice Samuel Alito rejected the request on Monday on behalf of the court.
Earlier this year, the high court shut down an effort by the Missouri attorney general to remove the gag order.
After Trump was convicted, Judge Juan Merchan lifted parts of the gag order. Trump, however, still cannot reveal information about jurors, court staff or their families.
Following Trump's re-election, Merchan delayed his sentencing and ordered the prosecution and defense to present arguments on the president-elect's potential immunity in December.

Earlier this month, Trump's attorneys asked Merchan to overturn the verdict because they said it would present unconstitutional "disruptions to the institution of the Presidency."
