Former President Donald Trump tried to give a shoutout to a local Republican, Rep. Carlos Gimenez, at his rally in Miami on Wednesday.
However, he was taken aback when his supporters began to aggressively boo the mention of his name, apparently not on the same page with them.
"Your congressman, Carlos Gimenez," said Trump, to boos from the crowd. "Some say that Carlos Gimenez — oh, you don't like him?" he added in surprise.
"NO!!!" shouted several voices at once.
"What's going on?" said Trump. "Carlos, come out. We gotta get that straightened out. Carlos Gimenez. Really? Wow."
Gimenez, the former county mayor of Miami-Dade, has long been a loyal Trump supporter, but this is not the first time other Trump supporters have appeared to object to him. He was also booed at a 2020 rally for the former president's re-election, at the same time he was running for Congress.
