Donald Trump's healthcare plan, the announcement of which was postponed on Monday, has been dubbed an "entirely fictional" policy by his niece, Mary Trump.
Speaking during a video uploaded to her YouTube channel, Mary Trump was roundly critical of what she dubbed "Trumpcare" and the administration's ongoing healthcare struggles. She said, "Donald repeatedly promised to abolish it [Obamacare] and replace it with a better, cheaper alternative, known as Trumpcare.
"But of course it isn't known as Trumpcare because it's entirely fictional. It has never proceeded beyond being anything other than a concept of a plan."
Trump was set to release details over Thanksgiving though the White House postponed the health care proposals on Monday, the day it was expected to be unveiled.
Mary Trump continued, "I mean for God's sakes, we've been waiting for eight years. Eight years, for Donald and his crack team of professionals to improve an already quite functional healthcare system which was created during the Obama administration. And yet, crickets."
The political commentator went on to say the government shutdown over the healthcare issue had not solved anything for either the tens of millions who Mary Trump says would lose their healthcare, or the GOP.
Mary Trump went on to say the early closure of Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency is another sign of empty promises from Trump and his team.
DOGE had been established to cut government waste but it has since been reported that the department may have actually cost the government more money than it saved. The Lincoln Project founder Rick Wilson suggested the department had been an utter failure and failed to achieve its aims.
He said, "I was told that DOGE was going to create trillions and trillions of dollars in cuts from wasteful government spending and as it turns out it was a net negative. It created more costs than it saved. It was, from the very start, Muskian bulls**t."
Wilson went on to suggest Musk's strategy was more about cutting what he did not like in government rather than actively pursuing government spending oversights.
Musk's strategy according to Wilson was, "an aesthetic dislike of X, anything that's woke, and because of his hatred of the woke he wanted to slash things that included words like 'justice, equity, climate, bias,' the usual things that trigger the MAGA."
