Former President Donald Trump insisted on Thursday that he was not an insurrectionist despite inciting a riot against the U.S. government.
"I'm not an Insurrectionist ('PEACEFULLY & PATRIOTICALLY'), Crooked Joe Biden is!!!" Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.
Trump's protest came after the Colorado Supreme Court ruled 4-3 that he should be barred from the state's primary ballot.

"President Trump incited and encouraged the use of violence and lawless action to disrupt the peaceful transfer of power," Colorado justices wrote for the majority decision.
The ruling found that Section 3 of the 14th Amendment applied to Trump. The provision was added to the U.S. Constitution after the Civil War and says nobody who took part in an insurrection against the U.S. can hold public office.
