President Donald Trump vowed that Iran's naval fleet would soon be "floating at the bottom of the sea."

In a Sunday post to Truth Social, the U.S. president gave an update on the progress in the fight against the Iranian Navy.

"I have just been informed that we have destroyed and sunk 9 Iranian Naval Ships, some of them relatively large and important," he wrote. "We are going after the rest — They will soon be floating at the bottom of the sea, also! In a different attack, we largely destroyed their Naval Headquarters."

Trump added: "Other than that, their Navy is doing very well!"

The president's claim came a day after the U.S. military began strikes that killed Iran's supreme leader.
