A CNN panel on Tuesday whacked former President Donald Trump after he lobbed an angry attack on the majority of American Jews.
Trump this week told right-wing podcaster Sebastian Gorka that "any Jewish person that votes for Democrats hates their religion, they hate everything about Israel, and they should be ashamed of themselves."
Given that more than two-thirds of American Jews supported Biden in 2020, Trump was saying that a supermajority of Jews in America hate their own religion.
New Yorker reporter Evan Osnos was quick to point out all of the reasons that Trump's comments were completely out of line.
"It's very offensive, frankly, to American Jews," he said. "I think the idea, on the one hand, that people would hate the state of Israel because their... opposition to a policy is something that bothers people. Also, the assumption that Jewish identity means support necessarily for Israeli policies, is also something that really bothers people."

Former Biden White House Communications Director Kate Bedingfield chimed in to say that Trump's remarks were "offensive and, some would argue, hateful."
She then said that Trump outbursts such as these would help President Joe Biden shore up wavering support among his own voters, some of whom have threatened to withhold support for him over his backing of Israel's war against Hamas in Gaza that has led to the death of an estimated 30,000 Palestinians.
"I think the more you hear Trump's voice, his, you know, his honest thoughts here, the better that comparison is for Biden," she said.
