Donald Trump Jr. was mercilessly mocked on social media on Saturday—even earning himself a Community Notes correction—after he used the atrocity in Israel to minimize the war occurring in Ukraine.
The former president's son also made a splash on Saturday when he tweeted a graphic video showing a dead body in Israel – and used it to claim that similar attacks to those committed by Hamas were coming to the U.S.
In a separate post on the subject of Israel, Donald Trump Jr. called into question the Ukraine war's seriousness based on what he has seen on internet videos of Israeli damage.
POLL: Should Trump be allowed to run for office?
"How is it possible that I’ve seen more videos out of this war in Israel in a few hours than I have from Ukraine in almost 2 years???" Trump Jr. wrote.
A community notes comment appears below the post:
"The Russian invasion of Ukraine, numerous Russian missile & drone attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure, as well as widespread Russian war crimes against Ukrainians on occupied territories, including kidnapping, rape, torture and executions, are well documented," the note states.
It was more than just the social media platform that came after Trump Jr. Fellow conservatives did, as well.
Former Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) said, "Dude when you’re licking Putins boots constantly it doesn’t take long for the ole algorithm to figure out that you don’t want to see Russian atrocities. So you don’t. #science"
Republican political consultant Nathan Wurtzel also replied:
"It's not and do not hide behind Jews to bolster your advocacy for Putin, Usay."
Lucy Caldwell, Tea Party founding member Joe Walsh's 2020 campaign manager, also chimed in:
"Because the new media landscape reinforces our preconceived beliefs, biases and silos and you were exceptionally biased (and siloed) to begin w/," she answered.
On the left, political analyst Sarah Reese Jones also said, "The leap from Russian propaganda to Russian stooge is smaller than first reported."
