'Inviting to lampoon you': Trump reportedly doing 'everything to make himself look worse'

Donald Trump seems to be doing everything to make himself look worse amid the federal government shutdown, a TV news panel said on Saturday.

A MSNBC panel over the weekend opened with a discussion on one of Trump's latest comments to GOP lawmakers. Specifically, they pointed out that Trump took to Truth Social to appeal to his fellow Republicans regarding the filibuster.

"Remember, Republicans, regardless of the Schumer Shutdown, the Democrats will terminate the Filibuster the first chance they get. They will Pack the Supreme Court, pick up two States, and add at least 8 Electoral Votes," Trump claimed without presenting evidence. "Their two objectors are gone!!! Don’t be WEAK AND STUPID. FIGHT,FIGHT, FIGHT! WIN, WIN, WIN!"

Trump added, "We will immediately END the Extortionist Shutdown, get ALL of our agenda passed, and make life so good for Americans that these DERANGED DEMOCRAT politicians will never again have the chance to DESTROY AMERICA! Republicans, you will rue the day that you didn’t TERMINATE THE FILIBUSTER!!! BE TOUGH, BE SMART, AND WIN!!! This is much bigger than the Shutdown, this is the survival of our Country!"

Pointing to those comments, a host on MSNBC's weekend primetime show said he was "signaling he's sick of the shutdown."

"This to me shows he's getting a little antsy," Elise Jordan said, adding, "and he sees the political ramifications of this happening."

Journalist Antonia Hylton pointed out that, despite being known to care about "optics," Trump "seems to be doing everything to make himself look worse."

"He threw a Halloween party last night and it was literally Great Gatsby themed," she said, asking, "Are you inviting people to lampoon you in this moment?"

Jordan then chimed in again, ridiculing Trump for sharing White House renovation photos amid the government shutdown.
