'Trump has lost his mojo': Ex-president ridiculed for small crowd at telerally event

Donald Trump on Saturday opted to do a "telerally" Iowa event because of bad weather, but some have pointed out the event's rather lackluster appearance.

Trump, who has said he believes the bad weather will work to his benefit because of his fans' rabid disposition, appeared at the event alongside Iowa's attorney general, Brenna Bird. Here is the description of the event from the New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman:

"Trump canceled two events, including a Sioux City in frozen-over Iowa scheduled for tonight. In last several hours the campaign put together a moderated, flag-draped event in Des Moines with Trump seated in a chair flanked by supporters, airing on a livestream."

But having a few supporters on a livestream isn't as impressive when it is compared to Trump's typically enormous gatherings, according to onlookers.

In fact, someone responded to Haberman's report, saying, "Trump team actually can't get any kind of crowd out for an event."

"Meanwhile [Ron DeSantis] has hundreds of volunteers fly/drive through the teeth of the storm to actually come to work as unpaid volunteers for him," the post says.

Former federal and state prosecutor Ron Filipkowski, who refers to himself as a "Republican Party Insane Asylum Escapee," pointed out that the event did not pass muster.

"He looks like the Director of an Assisted Living Facility tonight calling out bingo numbers," he wrote Saturday.

A second DeSantis supporter also had something to say, claiming that "Trump has lost his MoJo."

"No wonder Trump is doing a telerally," Justin Templer wrote. "Tiny crowd."

Even before Trump walked into the room, some were wondering where the crowds had gone in the snow. When Trump aide Dan Scavino Jr. posted that Trump is "wheels down in Iowa," someone replied, "Where's the huge crowd of Trump supporters waving from the street?"
