'Beyond furious': Ex-GOP congressman leads outrage at Trump Memorial Day antics

When he wasn’t veering into attacks on his predecessor Joe Biden, President Donald Trump honored fallen military members Monday — moments after telling his fans to “enjoy” his speech.

He commemorated the solemn Memorial Day holiday at Arlington National Cemetery, saying, "Their valor gave us the freest, greatest and most noble republic ever to exist on the face of the earth, a republic that I am fixing after a long and hard four years.”

But he veered off script, ranting, "That was a hard four years we went through. Who would let that happen?” and launching into his Biden attack.

He then went off to play golf at his Virginia club.

Earlier in the day, he posted a Memorial Day message on his Truth Social platform in which he called Biden and judges "scum."

The whole performance left critics aghast.

“I’m beyond furious,” wrote former GOP congressman-turned-Trump foe Joe Walsh on X.

“Captain Phony Bone Spurs dodged Vietnam, sneered at POWS and spit on the graves of the fallen by calling them “suckers and losers.”

“No president has ever disrespected our troops like this draft-dodging bully.”

Walsh led a whole outpouring of anger at Trump’s Memorial Day antics.

“Trump to Spend Majority of Memorial Day at Golf Club The man who cited bone spurs to avoid Vietnam will spend more time golfing than honoring the fallen this Memorial Day,” posted the account Patriot Takes.

And children’s book author Scott Howard posted, “Through Memorial Day and D-Day, I've felt especially disturbed by Veterans who support tRump. I can only assume they like being called "suckers and losers" by the lying coward with the fake bone spurs.”

Another X user, @aeroaceleed, told her followers: “President Donald Trump was seen limping during his Memorial Day ceremony. When questioned by reporters he answered that his bone spurs were giving him trouble again.”
