Fans of former President Donald Trump eagerly awaited the start of a livestream interview between the former president and tech billionaire Elon Musk on the Spaces feature of his X platform — only to be met with a message that the space was not available.

The start time — 8 p.m. Eastern Time — came and went, with the Space not working, and numerous users confused.

Musk previously said he was conducting "system scaling tests" on Sunday and Monday in advance of the conversation with Trump.

Musk posted that his app appeared to be undergoing a "massive DDOS attack."

"Working on shutting it down," he said. "Worst case, we will proceed with a smaller number of live listeners and post the conversation later."

The technical glitch, which as of press time is still ongoing, comes as the former president struggles to reset his campaign following several weeks of trying to adjust to Vice President Kamala Harris taking the stage as the new nominee for the Democratic Party.
