“Morning Joe” co-host Jonathan Lemire claims White House advisors think Elon Musk went “a bridge too far” with his comments about President Donald Trump, but it's not because of the post accusing Trump of being a pedophile.
The revelation came in the 7 o’clock hour of the MSNBC morning show.
While speaking on the Musk-Trump drama, co-anchor Willie Geist turned it over to Lemire for his analysis, “because you've covered Trump more than anyone else here,” Geist said. “He doesn't really like forgiveness. I think once you get on his bad side, you're on his bad side.”
“But in this case, Elon is worth a fair chunk of money, he did help. [Musk] has promised a $100 million check, which has not been written, we should note.” Geist questioned, “What do you predict Trump will do? Will he take him back, or is he going to make him grovel a little bit? I mean, how does this work for Trump?”
Lemire said, “You're right that Trump is not really in the forgiveness business, and the most grievous insult that Musk hurled yesterday was not about Jeffrey Epstein, but rather Musk taking credit for Trump's win. That is where I think that people around the president that may be a bridge too far.”
The Epstein accusations Lemire is talking about were made on Thursday when Musk posted on X, “Time to drop the really big bomb: @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!”
He later posted in a thread, “Mark this post for the future. The truth will come out.”
Epstein is notably the disgraced financier who hanged himself in his jail cell. Epstein was set to be on trial for accusations of sexually abusing girls and pimping them out to his elite social circle, which included Presidents Bill Clinton, Donald Trump, and Prince Andrew.
