President Donald Trump got short with reporters while arriving in Scotland, when he was questioned about the ongoing Jeffrey Epstein files controversy, and demanded they talk about anything else.
"Mr. President, were you briefed on your name appearing in the files ever?" asked one reporter.
"No, I was never, never briefed, no," said Trump.
Another reporter asked about the Justice Department's controversial move to question convicted Epstein sex trafficking accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell. "What are you hoping [Deputy Attorney General] Todd Blanche interviewing Ghislaine Maxwell — what are you hoping that they get out of that?"
"I really have no, really nothing to say about it," said Trump, adding that Blanche is a "very smart" and "very good" man and that "this is no time" to be talking about whether his administration will give Maxwell a pardon.
"You're making a very big thing over something that's not a big thing," Trump added. "You should be talking about — if you're going to talk about that, talk about [Bill] Clinton, talk about the former president of Harvard, talk about all of his friends. Talk about the hedge fund guys that were with him all the time. Don't talk about Trump. What you should be talking about is the fact that we have the greatest six months in the history of a presidency, according to a lot of people. And we had an amazing six months."
Yet another reporter tried to ask about Republicans in Congress trying to punt on a resolution to compel the Epstein files from the Justice Department. "Did you ask House Republican leaders to not vote on the resolution about—"
"I was never, I was never involved in that," said Trump. "I'm focused on making deals. I'm not focused on conspiracy theories that you are. I mean, I watch you people. It's, It's so sad. You ought to talk about the success of our country instead of this nonsense that you talk about over and over again."
